Brentwood U16 Golden Boot Competition 14.10.07

Brentwood Rugby Club and Brentwood U16’s would like to thank all the clubs and their supporters who attended the Golden Boot Competition on Sunday 14th October.

The standard of rugby played was very high and this was reflected in the competitiveness of the matches across the board. Despite the close competitive nature of the matches the entire day passed of without any problems and every team was a credit to their respective clubs.

We are particularly grateful to Medway for providing a referee on the day as we had been short of the numbers expected. This meant that there were 4 referees operating in a competition which was organised around 4 matches always progressing concurrently. Consequently our 4 referees worked extremely hard to ensure everything went as close to the timetable as possible and for that would give them a special thank you.

For the record the winning sides were as follows:

Golden Boot – Brentwood

Plate – Medway

Shield – Braintree

Bowl – Upminster

We hope you all enjoyed the day especially as we were blessed with great weather to compliment the rugby.

Special thanks must also go to all those involved in making the day happen from arranging the visiting clubs, preparation and sales of programmes, organising and running the raffle, organising and recording all the results and registration, the kitchen, bbq, bar and sweets stall and the clearing up at the end, and even those who just sorted the corner flags and post protectors and to anybody missed from the above.
